Perennial Porridge Pot Podcast

Porridge is ready – bring your own creative work

Once a fortnight, we the Scottish Inverse – Diaspora and Natives invite you to join us around the never-empty porridge pot, we’ll even hand you a spurtle spoon to stir it as we share our writing creations with the world. If you eat up your good Scottish porridge, then we won’t be averse to hearing what you too, have to offer.

Episode 1.  Writers’ Treasure.

Lesley Benzie reads Roger Meachem’s adaptation of a short story, Jack and the Captain, from 365 Stories by Scottish Author James Robertson. Set in the Fife coastal village of Anstruther this is the opening of Treasure Island as you’ve never heard it. Roger goes on to discuss how there’s Writers’ treasure to be found – or rediscovered all around us. A few Scottish facts are added, but this being a podcast which aims to keep you on your toes there’s definitely a fib thrown in for good measure – if you can spot it.

Accompanying song, Rain, by songwriter Martin Stephenson and sung by Helen McCookerybook is available as a download from daintees.bandcamp.com
